Just Rannin' Around

Once upon a time . . .

In a kingdom far, far away . . .

Somewhere in a moderate dwelling a distance from the castle . . .

Lived a girl and her dragon.

She never could remember the exact day that the little dragon had shown up on her front door. All she could really remember was that he was so calm at first that she barely noticed that he was there following her around. Sure, he did make himself known when he was unhappy at times but his fits were short and nothing that she couldn’t immediately calm down by diverting his attention.

Unbeknownst to her, dragons grow fast, they grow larger than life and they begin having ideas of their own. How was she to know this? Most of the other girls in the kingdom either didn’t have a dragon or they had given theirs away years before getting into this situation.

Now her dragon was constantly wanting attention. One of his favorite times to play was right in the middle of the night. As relaxation would overtake her body, out of nowhere he would pounce on the bed, jumping around until she would get up and take him running to get some of that energy out. She never knew if she should be angry for waking her up or excited and grateful that her dragon was extremely active and healthy.

She decided not to be angry, after all it wasn’t really his fault and she wouldn’t want him to be any other way.

The End
