My middle name never was Grace!

Richard and I went ice skating last Saturday night. I love to ice skate and I typically don’t have an issue. Well evidentially staying on my feet was going to be an issue. I had done perfectly fine all night long and I had even attempted to skate backwards a few times. The toe pick just got the best of me. We were skating at a fairly good pace chatting about nothing in particular when I must have leaned my foot a bit too forward. The toe pick went into the ice and I went flat to the ground. Richard said that it appeared that I had done it on purpose because it almost looked as if I had just decided I needed to lie down. Not the case at all.

Well I obtained a war wound....of which I am always proud to carry. I have a nice huge black, blue and purple bruise with on my right knee. It is lovely.

I wish I may, I wish I might

When I was younger I used to look up to the skies and look for either the first star of the night or the shooting stars as the night progressed. I wanted to make those wishes because I believed that all that I would wish would come true. Those wishes sent up to the skies were what my heart most desired. I don’t remember when I stopped sending wishes up to those stars.

As I have grown in knowledge and light, I started sending my thanks and pleas up to the heavens to a loving Father. My simple faith upon those stars has grown in leaps as I properly placed it in the only One that can actually take my greatest righteous desires and make them reality.

Obama kicks trash in South Carolina.

I noticed that he is running commercials here in Utah. That just doesn't happen very often. Actually I really can't remember the last time that I saw a presidential commercial being run in Utah. I understand why we don't see them here (no reason to spend money in a State where the vote goes the same way every time), so I have found it interesting that not only is he running them, but a lot of them. I wonder whether or not he will continue to run them if he wins the Democratic nomination and moves on toward the November election. I doubt it.

I thought that I knew who I was going to vote for on February 5th on super Tuesday, but I am not so positive any more. I think that I need to spend some additional time (hard to believe since I have been consumed with this election) really researching a couple of the candidates.

Political Nerd

I had the day off work today. Knowing that I had the day off, I prepared all weekend so that I didn’t have to do much of anything…a day just for me to relax. I managed to do a lot of that after of course, I went running this morning. Had to clear my mind and run some things off before it would be possible.

What has happened? Well I spent the first part of the day with my nose buried in a book. I only took a break for about a half an hour when I made homemade lasagna for lunch. It was very yummy! One of my goals for this year is to read at least one book a month. I have far exceeded that goal. As of this moment I have already read seven new books this year! Much of that is due to my less than busy schedule at work. There isn’t much to do, but I still need to be there in case things come up so I have had some spare time there. Currently I have read:

For One More Day by Mitch Albom

Good Hope Road by Lisa Wingate

The Innocent Man by John Grisham

A Painted House by John Grisham

From Persecutor to Apostle by Thomas A. Wayment

The Angel of Eleventh Avenue by Roy Bates

No Matter How Long or Hard the Road by Jeffrey R. Holland

If anyone has a good book to suggest, I am currently looking for my next read. Actually I could use a few suggestions since I seem to be reading through a book about every four days.

After I finished book number seven for the year, CNN was turned on. I have spent the rest of the day listening to all of the political commentary. I am not sure if it helps me to make a decision or if it just makes me more critical of every single candidate running. The democratic debate in South Carolina has just come on and I am wonder if any of them will have something to say that is worth listening to. Frustrating!

First and foremost.....Congratulations to Sarah Jane and Sid!

Everything was beautiful! The sealing, the bride, the dress (made by the bride), just everything that made it a day that the both of you will remember throughout the eternities! I am so excited for you!!

Second.....

I am going to start posting more often again. I think that it is a great outlet for me to get thoughts out of my head and believe me there are too many up there causing me a huge headache.
My journal writing has increased so why not add to that by publishing my thoughts here also. Not to mention that I have been feeling really disconnected with all of you, my friends and need to attempt to correct that wrong.

Happy New Year

I do believe that this is going to be an exciting year. As I have been pondering the happenings of last year, present situations and the potential of this coming year, I am incredibly optimistic.

As I sat and wrote down what I am going to continue doing this year and things on which I want to improve, realization of so many blessings started to appear. It was fabulous to see what life brings by not only trying to do what is right, but just because a loving Heavenly Father knows when to place things in my life when I am finally ready to receive them. I am still slowly learning that His timetable is put together better than mine.

My largest goal this year: Making His will mine!
